Being a naturist I set myself the challenge of running the C25K as a naturist. I completed Week 9 Run 3 and I am trying to keep up the 3 runs a week routine. I have found running without clothes gives me a real sense of freedom and wellbeing. Are there any other naturist runners?

Thank you! It’s a great running programme . The incremental steps improve one’s ability by the week without one really noticing. I am not a natural runner but I feel a lot better having done the course. I have no desire to run a marathon although my daughter ran in the Brighton one a few weeks ago.

Hi Windrunner1 , well done on completing C25K. I have may mentioned in our previous exchanges on this forum that The Naturist Foundation organises running events - there's a 5k on 22nd May: naturistfoundation.org/prod...

Dear Cmoi

I wasn't aware of that so thank you. It will be good to run with like minded people.

Congratulations on completing the programme. I’m fully clothed when I go out - a combination of living in the north and not being well acclimatised to the chilly English air. You’re a brave man.

I have been known to refer to myself as a 'naked runner', but what I meant by that was that I ran without tech and music. You are on the next level, and you run as nature intended. May I ask, was it in this country? If it was, I really do respect your resilience.

I live in a rural area in the South East of the UK and try to run every other day. Although cold to start with one soon warms up in the winter but now the warmer weather is here it is a really good way to run. I haven't met any opposition to my choice of running attire but I do carry a mobile phone to hear Jo Willeys words of encouragement.

Gosh, you are brave! Naked in the winter... I know that they say to dress as though it is 10 degrees warmer, but even my lightweight shorts and running top help in fending off the wind and, believe me, a north wind across Dartmoor can be very unpleasant and biting.Good luck with your running, and as Spring is now here it must feel so liberating. It may not be for all of us, but I will never criticise anyone for being who they are, or for dressing how they wish.

Thank you. I think everyone should try it at least once. A warning as its such a nice way to run its addictive

Well done to you Windrunner1 on running naked (not in the tech sense) you are very brave in doing that, I have never ran with no clothes on, if I did the police would arrest me for "indecent exposer" I think many many years ago there was a race in London where everyone ran in their birthday suit, I don't think that race continues.

The Police guidelines are quite clear on running as a naturist. I am not committing an offence. Perhaps you are thinking of the Workd Naked Bike ride which takes place in many cities in the UK and around the world in which many thousands take part.

I have been a cyclist 🚴 much longer than a 🏃🏾RUNNER, 1953v 2018, but I have never cycled naked, good luck for your running in the buff. 😊 🏃🏾

Cycling naked is good fun too. On quiet country roads. There are plenty of people ‘our’ age who take part in the World Naked Bike Ride. Details of the UK rides are in the WNBR website. The London ride takes place on the 11th June and usually attracts well over 1000 cyclists.

👍 Bike 🚴I would think cycling nude might be a bit sore "down below"

I haven’t found that a problem.

Jo Willey - good typo! Jo Whiley keeps me on the straight and narrow too! I'm half way there, week 4 done, but feel the dog walkers are not ready to see me as part of the natural world? I will smile a bit more now though listening to her encouraging voice. There is a massive assumption in this reply of course!

😂 Well done completing Wk4. The extraordinary thing is as the weeks go by the longer runs get easier and you will feel a real sense of achievement running for 30 minutes which for me equated to around 3 miles this morning.

I don't mean to be facetious but this is a serious question. Without pockets how to you manage keys etc - I assume you have to carry everything in your hands?

Windrunner1 profile image
Windrunner1 in reply to Leotigris

As I run from home I don’t need to carry anything other than my phone for the C25K Jo Whilley encouragement.

BN member here to as that is where I found your link. Have completed C25K on the treadmill and am now doing regular 5k runs with ifit , again on treadmill. COPD doesn't help but I refuse to let it stop me. Need to get outside and run ... was going to do the 5k at BareCamp but it clashed with the fishing comp. No1 love of my life! Next year!!
