Missing out a Run

It wasn’t planned as not a running day yesterday, but I managed to run for 20 minutes with my dog this means I have leapfrogged/missed out R2W5. I am definitely going to do R3 again, but the question is should I go back and do R2 (8 minutes running 5 minutes walking x 2). The process is working so well for me and I don’t want to jinx it. Advice appreciated. Thank you!

You either follow the plan or you don't. That is up to you.

Well done on running for 20 minutes,

However, If it was me then I would want to know that I had completed ALL the runs in the plan .But i would have also done them in order which is of course there to give a gradual increase with less risk of injury and of course no running on consecutive days as explained in the programme guide .

It's best to stick to the programme as it is laid out and not to chop & change as you see fit, it's been devised by experts. The answer to your question is yes, do W5R2 and carry on from there every other day and not on consecutive days.

Thank you - that’s what I thought. I won’t get I to the details but was never the intention to run on Saturday and go off piste. Will go back to R2. Thank you!

Take 2 days 'off' - no running at all.

Then resume by doing W5R2 and continue the plan as normal.

That’s exactly what I will do. I don’t normally run at the weekend and until yesterday have stuck to the plan. Thank for for your guidance.
