I have what are called ‘fashion’ running shoes by real runners :p. But I chose them last July when I needed comfortable walking shoes after a few days of traveling hurt my knees. They had very light use until I started (week 3 run 1 now).
They are super comfy, but not very supportive downhill as my foot slides forward. (Woven sock style adidas)
I live on an island where hills are everywhere and shopping options are limited, but in 2 weeks I’m traveling, so if I want to upgrade, it is in the mainland, or never! (Well, until next year maybe…)

I would maybe take your current shoes when you get your gait analysis. They can see how you run in them and might want to look at the level of cushioning you currently have.
Read the guide that has been linked to, but if your feet are moving around in your shoes then either they are the wrong size or you need to pay attention to the lacing. There is a link in the guide to buying shoes to a page about lacing techniques.I would thoroughly recommend a gait analysis at a specialist running shop.
I started in a pair very similar to those! But I could tie mine so they felt supportive across the instep - yours look like they won't get really snug enough. I went to a running shop and got some proper advice, and ended up with a pair I love, with support to stop my foot rolling in.Mine are saucony, but the brand you end up with will depend on what fits you best. (The brooks which everybody loves just don't fit me).
Might be worth calling ahead, some shops will give you a time slot for a proper gait analysis. Happy hunting☺️
I'm a real runner and all my running shoes are Adidas! 🤣Adidas running shoes. I have trail and road ones.
They are brilliant!
You've had loads of ideas and your shoes are so important.
Try the lacing tips.. the running socks too are important too.
A 'real ' runner is maybe the one who finds the shoes that suit their running...are comfy and get them where they want to be...if yours are comfy...maybe the lacing will help.
