So last September I got to week 9 and run 2 and my back went! I then had 4 months of general ill health. I was gutted not completing the C25K but at least I ran for one run for 30 mins! Now I do need to get back to it for sure as my joints have stiffened somewhat, I sit at a desk all day so not good for my overall health and mental health. As I have not run now in 5 months, what would you recommend to start again? A couple of weeks of walking before I re- start? Use the C25K for walking only until I get some fitness back, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome back!
As has happened to many of us, life, work and the Pandemic have impacted all of us; but we are, despite this, finding ways to get back on track.
Firstly, might I suggest that you check out these links, which will refresh your mind re- running C25K... then, if you as feel , you are really off form, then some strength and stamina work will surely help.

Do take a peek at the Strength and flex forum where there are many links to get you moving again. Walking will help, as will any form of gentle exercise, in order to get those muscles working again.
There are many exercises too, specifically for use by folk who are at a desk for a long time..as and when you feel ready to begin to run again, then do repeat C25K.
A five minute example...

Many of us have done and are doing this, and if you visit my Catch-Up Corner posts, which I began in November, you will find many repeaters , and find support there also

My mantra still is, slow and steady, and I feel if you take that on board, it may work for you and you will soon be running into the Spring!
Keep us posted please

Welcome back !
And it's great that you want to get back into the program .
Do you know what the problem was with your back ?
Did you have any professional advice on the issue ?
If you know this is now ok then I would completely Echo the advice given by Oldfloss .
Often back issues can be related to poor core strength so looking at the excercises advised and starting the program again would be wise .
Enjoy your return

I would certainly get the go ahead from your orthopaedic consultant before running again !Fingers crossed 🤞
He said it was fine to start again
Hi Greer12 ,
I'm probably going to be regarded as a bit controversial and I sympathise with your ill health.
I'd say dust off those trainers and get back out there. Why not give Week 1, 2 or 3 a go to start off and see how you do choose the week based on what you feel you can comfortably achieve and go do it.
This will help increase your confidence and get you back in the game.
Let me know how you get on.
