After all of the 'warnings' about taking it carefully for this run, I was especially mindful when starting out today. The fact that I'm in between night shifts also means that I was extra careful not to overpush myself. And really, it was great! I felt good during all of the runs, appreciated the walks and overall, just felt like it was a perfect mix for what I needed today. I also went into the day knowing I could do it...and I feel the same way going into W6R2 in a couple of days...I know I can do it!! That's a great feeling! Happy day, everyone.
W6R1- no problem: After all of the 'warnings... - Couch to 5K
W6R1- no problem
That’s awesome, well done, I think we found week 6 run 1 tough partly because it was July and very hot and partly because we went off too fast, sounds like you got it just right
A very upbeat post! It is lovely when a plan comes together👍😀👍
Brilliant - great for your confidence going forward. This should put you in a good place for the next few runs.
Well done!! I definitely think it’s mind over matter. If you go into a run thinking “I can do this” it already puts you in the right mindset for success 💪
Well done. I did my Wk6, run 1 this morning so we're following a similar timescale.
I actually found it harder than the big step up Wk5, run 3, 20 mins which I found surprising easier than anticipated. I say 'anticipated' but I actually meant 'dreaded' as this is my 3rd time doing C25k (and twice graduated) so knew what was coming! I've had gaps of over a year between my running spells so I decided to do the programme again as I find it a great platform to get back into running. I'm never going to go more than 5 or maybe 10k I'm sure but I do love the sense of achievement and feeling of running outside in the fresh air and the benefit it has on my health 😀
Good on you Swoody for continuing to run in a safe and enjoyable way- you having completed the program a couple of times already is an excellent example of how good this program is. Like you, I don't ever see myself running for more than 5k (10k at the very, very most) but that's fine. I'm looking for the enjoyment and the added benefit of being healthier and fitter.....no marathons in sight for me and that's absolutely okay!
A great result all round for you. Fabulous 👏👏👍
