Just thought I'd drop a quick note to say I'm still here and pootling along quite nicely.
I decided not to run along the Mersey to Didsbury as I normally do for reasons that will be obvious to locals (I'd have needed a snorkel!) so I'm a couple of runs behind.
However, that seems to matter not a jot to me this time around - it's all about the getting out there and building up again.
I'm so relieved to be knocking out the 25-minuters again and I'm not having any issues with pain or soreness.
I can't wait for sunnier days and lighter nights and to get back to my "short" 6k lunchtime run and my long and slow weekend jaunts (my 10 mile route was my favourite). It's a way off yet but I can feel the urge coming back properly now.
For now, the build up back to 5k will do me for the next few weeks. It ain't fast and it certainly ain't pretty but it feels very good!
Happy running to newbies and oldies alike.
