Parkrun done, ambition accomplished!!

With the help and encouragement of my 21yr old son, Harry, I completed a proper 5k Parkrun today and am so thrilled to have run all the way with a reasonable time for my age as well. I used to drive him to Parkruns and watch and admire - now we have run one together. Thanks Couch to 5k!

Congratulations on completing your first 5k Parkrun with your son Harry, if you continue running at parkrun on a Saturday morning you could join Damienair's Saturday parkrun forum where people who have ran, jogged or walk report it on that forum.

Well done. It is my ambition too. I am on week 7 on C2K and hoping to do park run on first Sat in March .

Parkrun really is a good incentive and such a great community. I took a few months to reach 5k having completed c25k - having first to consolidate the 30 minutes and then go a little bit further each time. I was advised that 10% increase in pace or distance was best to aim for. Good luck and enjoy the journey!

I’m so pleased for you JeanneMary! It’s a terrific feeling at the end of your first parkrun isn’t it and the fact you’re able to do it with your son makes it even better!

Hi Oldgirlruns! I feel I know you from this forum - and yes, a great feeling thanks. Officially my second parkrun really, my first was my 59th birthday in July 2021 but I've started right from the beginning again this year after various little injuries. So great to do this with Harry though. Thanks - and I hope you're still fit and running. X

Oh that is just fantastic JeanneMary. How fabulous 👏👏👏👏
