Back and hip pain.

I'm new to running, I've just done the first week but I am struggling now with back and hip pain. Not sure if I should keep on running or wait till the pain eases. The pain is worse when I wake up but by mid morning it's not so bad.

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

Back pain in new runners can be a sign of poor core strength. Hip, knee and back pain in new runners is aggravated by the impact of running and poor supportive musculature, but this can all be overcome by strengthening exercises.

Welcome to the forum and the program.Do read the guide linked to by IannodaTruffe and take note of all the advice .

As mentioned, these things are not uncommon untill you build up your strength and resistance.

But if you are in pain , do not run .

Give yourself a day or 2 rest
