That was hard. I did it , I thought my last 5 minutes were nearly up, then Laura said, you are half way through keep going. πŸ˜’. I kept going . When I had finished my left calf ached ( more use, I guess) and my right ankle( weaker leg) . So I took a longer walk home to help them recover. Pleased I did it, but not looking forward to run 2

Well done, but your aching legs will benefit hugely from post run static stretches.

Stretching immediately after every run, nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h... while muscles are still warm and supple, pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow, as recommended in the guide to the plan.

Many people do not hold their stretches for long enough or put enough effort in. Hold post run stretches for 30 seconds and make sure the pull is strong enough to be on the verge of discomfort.

Well done Angie! I did mine last night and my knees had a weird ache early in the run, but was better by the end.
