Having not run since school, and being told not to do any high impact exercise after an operation on my knee I had an encounter with a yoga teacher who said he had done c25k with arthritis in his knee. I suddenly thought why not me? So I started and said to myself if I get any pain I will just stop. Well I didn't get any pain at all and have gone from strength to strength. I can't believe how much I love it and am still buzzing from realising that I actually do run at the pace of 5k in 30 mins. Onwards and upwards.

It would be wise to discover a slower pace too. An easy conversational pace equates to approximately 75% of your maximum heart rate, which is the perfect zone to build the solid aerobic base required to run faster and further, which is why it is the pace at which elite athletes spend up to 80% of their training time.
Keep running, keep smiling.

Thanks for posting. I too have arthritis in one knee which is described as a "very busy knee" and "degenerate" so your post is very encouraging. Well done on your GRADUATE status. I may well try a little jogging in the new year.
Congratulations on completing C25K!
