I did it!!! This is my first post to celebrate my final C25K run...but certainly not my last run ever, its just the beginning! So happy and proud of myself, thanks to all the useful posts and advice on here - I wouldn't have made it without you!
I have awarded you your badge, but please note you will NOT see it on your profile page because it is specific to the Couch to 5K community. You will see it next to your name when you post or reply here xxx
Graduated - Yahooo, I've complete W9R3 and feeling good. Will definitely keep running. Thanks for the help and support on here and from the app. Couldn't have done without Sarah Millican!!
My top tip is not to worry about the pace for the moment. Consolidate doing the 30 minute runs for a few weeks, then start increasing your run durations using something like The Magic Plan on the Bridge to 10K forum. Pace will pick up naturally as a side effect of you running "long". It may take several months to happen, but it is the safest way of doing it.
Congratulations, superstar! There's your badge xxx
I agree with what nowster said, and we have a little post-consolidation plan to help you increase your distance gently over time healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
I posted previously to say that as a lapsed C25K graduate ( all be it on a treadmill) I was encouraged to start again while slow shuffling with my wife, who always resisted the pleas to join me. This morning we completed the program ! Strangely she said it was the hardest one yet but then requested to keep going an extra 30 seconds. She is already looking forward to more running progress but in the immediate future would like to get up to the actual distance of 5k. Onwards and upwards π
Here to claim my badge, Week 3 Run 3 completed today. Also to say 'thank you' to all those on thd forum who helped along the way. Couldn't have done it without the advice, that's for sure!
I did my final run yesterday; 30Mins, 4.5k. I am amazed at how RELATIVELY easy it felt. I still have the usual twinging ankles despite lots of ankle strength work but I do actually now believe I can run and I find a real sense of achievement in it (even though the pleasure is still slightly out of reach!).
This method has amazed me. Everyone says it but, if I can do it, anyone can. The forum here has also been so important to keep motivated and on track. It is brilliant.
I am delighted and would recommend this to anyone learning to run.
This is my first time posting. I completed my final run yesterday and wanted to say thank you to the Couch to 5K community for inspiring and motivating me every step of the way. I couldnβt have done it without you.
Completed W9R3 today! Thanks for this great forum and all the helpful advise. I would have never been able to get this far without the support I found here!
Finally I achieved 5k last week. And not only that I also finished Haarlem Urban Trail 5k. It gives me boost of confidence. Thank you for the workable plan and support of the community.
C25K completed - a true coucher to 5k. Cannot believe that I managed it, Iβm not fast but Iβve done it! Managed the 5k in about 40mins on my last run too. Next chapter is consolidating the 30min runs for the next few weeks. See what the new year brings. A shiny badge would be great ππΌ
Completed my program last weekend ππ₯³ achieved something which never thought would be easy. thanks for all the support and proper guidance. here to claim my badge π
Well having been sceptical that someone thatβs avoided exercise for many years now post Covid tiredness and lack of energy I decided it was time I started to look after myself a bit better so started couch to 5k never would I have believed Iβd complete week 9 run 3 and now want to push on and keep going if I can do it anyone can !
roseabi Iβve managed to lose my graduate badge. Iβm still very proud of completing C25K! Any chance of getting it back if you have time. Sorry to be a pain π
Hi roseabi. I did it, I'm so proud and elated. It's been a very long time since I achieved something just for meπ€So happy that I found this forum. The help from everyone has been invaluable. I am still reading posts from 4 years ago, always something new to read and learn from.
My new journey begins and I'm excited to find out where it will take me.
Can I please have a GRADUATE badge? Thankyou. π
Hi roseabi, pleased to say Iβm looking forward to consolidating having completed W9R3 of C25K yesterday : ) I am truly grateful to those of you who manage this superb and inspirational forum.
So today I finally achieved Week 9 Run 3 and would love my badge please. Its been a long and winding road through PF/tendonitis. What have I learnt? To listen to my body and not to overdo it. From my wife and now running partner Iβve learnt to run more slowly and from me she has been encouraged to get out and join me. So all in all a win win and very pleased to say its now become part of our regular exercise regimen.
Hi, and huge congratulations! That's a great story well done both of you π
I'm afraid you have found an old post, and I cannot give you a badge because I am no longer an admin here. However, if you go to the post I have linked below and request your badge there, Oldfloss will see you right!
