I'm marking this runniversary by saying goodbye to my original C25K shoes!
They took me to my first 10k too. Possibly even my first 10 mile run, but I don't fancy delving that far back into my Strava history to check for sure. Excellent value at Β£30 ππ
After about 750k they were retired and used as slippers.
It is time for a change. They will be replaced with the recently retired shoes with over 1000k of use. Oddly, these ones don't seem to show as much wear and tear after taking me so much further.
Happy running! Enjoy your C25K journey and your continued adventures beyond. Hopefully we will see you on The Bridge to 10k

They've joined my 'red parkrun' shoes that I retired after about 650k.I still have some blue coloured ones of the same make and model and they are still good after over 1000k
Obviously they are good for you, I used to love Reeboks, Iβd buy them on ebay, one day i bid on 5 pairs and won4 πthat was a surprise but the new ones are different
The update version I got after the blue pair is rubbish. I'm using them but I've now moved away from both the model and the brand. I have zero loyalty π€£ or another way to look at it is that I'm not risk averse. I'll try anything at least once! π€£
They were very comfy but that doesn't necessarily mean they were good for my feet. And when you make space on your shoe rack you can buy some new shoes! There's always a silver lining! π±π
Absolutely! Those red parkrun shoes I mentioned in the thread were Β£55 and causing me knee pain. Paying more money doesn't mean you will definitely get better shoes!
Happy runniversary to you Katnap, I think any runner whose first running shoes "have had their day" should not bin them, at least the first pair, they are like a reminder of the very first day the runner ran in them, keep them as a souvenir.
The reason your newer shoes have lasted longer is probably because your technique has improved over time. You're probably lighter in landing on them and causing less of a scuffing/scrubbing motion on the soles.
It might be interesting for you to compare the wear patterns on the soles of your original shoes and the megametre (1000km) shoes.
