Yesterday was my one year runniversary

I thought to myself this evening, it must be about a year since I started this running thing. So I looked back on my couch to 5k app and sure enough, on 3 July Michael and I first stepped out together.

In the last 12 months I have graduated from C25k, increased to 10k, run my first Half Marathon (see photo) and worn out one pair of shoes but I can still vividly remember wheezing and struggling back in week 1. I thought those 60 seconds were never going to end. I thought at nearly 50 I might be too old. Clearly not.

So stick at it everyone just starting out. The mental and physical rewards can be tremendous. Push on through the barriers and I hope your running brings you joy.

Fantastic and well done. Not sure if the medal or the ice cream was the better reward. Where was the HM?

Ice cream every time! Saxon Shore half marathon - Herne Bay to Whitstable and back.

I enjoyed doing our first 10k's 'together' last November on Ju ju's program, and I'm very impressed that you have worked so hard and put in the miles resulting in a super time for your HM last month....
