πŸŽ‰ 4 year runniversary πŸŽ‰

Another year since graduating C25K πŸ™€And as I like to be different, I seem to have the habit of marking my runniversaries by saying goodbye to an old pair of running shoes.

I got good value out of these as they've helped carry me over 1000km. Although they have little wear, they are over 2 years old and I don't want to add further risk of injury.

I am currently using the C25K program to aid recovery from a surgical procedure from about a month ago. But.... that didn't stop me from joining in the Great South Run mega HU VRB meet. I don't remember seeing a 10 mile run in C25K between W5R3 and W6R1 but I'm a bit left field 🀣

Tomorrow's run is W8R2.

Wherever you are in the program I hope you see it through and remember that the HU forum is here to help you now and beyond 5k. AND if you need to return!

May you too have many runniversaries!

Shoes now in a shoes recycling bin in the local leisure centre (so not going to landfill)

This is from someone who just popped out for a run 18 months ago and came back 5 hours later having done 26.2 miles… yes, I can confirm he’s left field.

thank you lovely …not at the moment…my life has taken off since I started working so I’ve gone to the bottom of the queue as far as needing things are concerned…but I’ve had a few passes now which has opened up my diary so I’m making sure I keep some time aside for me πŸ˜‡ x

You are brave, I haven't managed to recycle my shoes yet, they are lined nearly in the bottom of the wardrobe, maybe when the wardrobe is full, I met a woman who played clarinet once who never threw her old reads away, she stored them nearly in case the world ended and she couldn't buy new ones, I'm a bit like that with running shoes,, those look like they have served you very well

Katnap profile image
KatnapGraduateβ€’ in reply toSueAppleRun

If you have more than 5x pairs then you could probably recycle some of them.Or learn to run barefoot 🀣

Well done πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³what a lovely message. I’m on Wk 6 and I’m finding it tough but rewarding when I get to the end!!! I can’t wait to finish- I think new trainers is a fab idea for each anniversary!!!!!

Weeks 5 and 6 are the real business end of the program. After that, walk intervals break your rhythm and it won't be long before you too will do that jogging on the spot when waiting to cross the road.

well done Katnap, my four year of graduating the first time will be in March 2023 and of starting will be January 2019. Taking the C25K a little slower this time round and not sticking so rigidly to run one day rest the next myself I am more oh it will be dry in a couple of nights I will go then in the afternoon when it’s dry. Aiming to see how far going in the week 7 runs as aiming to get back to Parkrun and not just volunteering as I have for around 38 weeks. Stay safe, stay healthy and stay running
