Not started my 10k yet been out for lots of walks with princey. I plan to do the 10k by christmas is that unrealistic? Peace

If you wish to run a 10K just before Christmas, try Ju Ju's Magic 10 plan, it's not an app but a training course a little like C25K.

That is not at all unrealistic. I got to 10k in just a few weeks using the 10% rule as a guide to weekly increase.

Retrospectively I should have worked more on strengthening exercises, especially core work, alongside increasing distance. I was also totally ignorant of the real reasons why slow running is recommended to be part of the regime, which is why I wrote the FAQ Posts about speed and getting faster.

If you haven't already read them all, the FAQs will give you good background info on a range of topics but nothing beats doing your own further research.

There is more to running than just putting one foot in front of the other as fast as you can, as I know you are well aware.

Slow and steady progress is still the best route forward to make sure you keep running without getting injured.

Do bear in mind the 10% rule though !
