So, a year ago I was doing c25k. I was so happy and excited, because for the first time in my life I had found a form of exercise (running) that I actually enjoyed. Things were going great, until I got some mild tendonitis. No problem, I thought - I'll just switch to cycling while it heals.
Then, while I was on a long bike ride in the woods one Saturday, I fell. Long story short, I managed to break my foot - a rareish injury called a lisfranc break. Cue several months of hopping around on one leg on crutches, a surgery, another few months of hobbling around in a walking cast, and several more months of "regular" walking with progressively less pain - and last week, almost exactly a year since my injury, I was cleared by my doctor to start running again.
So, me and the metal screw that now lives in my right foot are ready for another round of c25k - and today we just did our first run!
