Hi, I have just completed run 3 on week 9 and I can honestly say that I wouldn't have been able to do it without all the tips on here and seeing peoples journeys. Slow and steady is definitely the way for me and although I haven't hit 5k yet I am running for 30 mins without stopping!! I nearly gave up after week 1 and I repeated week 3 for 4 weeks as I wasn't confident enough in myself that I could actually do it!! So thank you for all the support and good luck to everyone who is doing it π

Congratulations on your Graduation. Happy running x
Brilliant! I'll join you on the podium in a day or so. Well done & keep at it. See you on the "Bridge to 10K" journey.
Haha I cant imagine doing 10k but who knows!!! Good luck
Me neither. But just as doubt plagued me before getting to 30 min runs, and a requirement of a little humility to accept that a mix of walks & runs were necessary, that's going to be my 10K approach. I'm going to use the Couch to 5 & 10K app in my next effort. Its strategy for getting to 5K/30-minutes is identical to what we've encountered so far, then uses a similar tact for 10K. It starts Week 1's three sessions with four 10-minute jogs separated by 1-minute walks (total of 40 minutes of running), gradually progressing in week 2 to three 15-minute running segments (45 minutes of running), and so-on, a method with whose success we're already familiar.
Woohoo π₯ππ β‘οΈI love the shiny badge next to your name π
Congratualtions Player87 ππͺππββοΈ What an incredible achievement!!
I can really relate to your post and certainly couldn't have carried on going without this group, which has been a real Godsend since I found it.I have also taken more than 9 weeks and am nowhere near making the 5k at graduation, but I am running 30 minutes solid and am only one run away from graduation, having completed run 2 of week 9 this morning.
What are your plans? Do you intend to keep running and perhaps do some consolidation work?
Like you, I'm just going to continue with 30 minutes runs. I think I'll give the consolidation group a go as I'd like to get closer to that elusive 5k in 30 minutes, but anything is better than not running at all, don't you think ? ππββοΈπ
Congratulations π well done π
