NRC #JustDoIt Sunday 1Mile

On Sundays I take it easy but I do like to do something, last 2 weeks I ran 1k on Sundays but today I did 1 Mile. This week I’m aiming for my longest continuous run to be 3k wish me luck! I’ll keep you posted! And how are y’all? Did you run today?

I've not run yet today. I'm waiting until a couple of hours have passed after my breakfast, then I'll kit up and go out for a long run (probably 13km).

If you go for 3.22km you can call it 2 miles.

How much running have you done in the last week?

This week I’ve done 6runs 13.8 K in total. My longest continuous run was 2.6k and and I also did one interval training where you run 3x 7mins I covered 3.5k on that intervals. You’re planning 13k? Today? I’m so jealous hihi I’m so far from it but hopefully I’ll get there sometime. How often you run?

Are you giving yourself any rest days at all? Running on consecutive days isn't good for you if you are new to running. (See the FAQ post.)

I've been running for a little over year now. I graduated from C25K on 28 August 2020, but overdid things and gave myself a nasty ankle sprain.

I kept to running every other day until about Easter this year. Once I had reached being able to run ten miles I tried doing a week with five short runs. I went back to running every other day for a few weeks then tried it again a few times.

This week I have run on every day except Friday. This isn't normal for me.

(Sunday rest, a very lazy day) Monday 10km, Tuesday 2 miles, Wednesday 10km, Thursday 2 miles, Friday rest (a 12km walk) and Saturday 5km (parkrun).

I normally have a rest day after a long run and on a Friday before a parkrun. I will be resting tomorrow.

What happened this week was that I missed my planned 10km run on Sunday due to heavy rain and lethargy. I did it instead on the Monday lunchtime and really enjoyed it, so decided to try again on the Wednesday evening. The short run on Thursday morning was too soon after that and my legs felt tired.

Once again, don't run on consecutive days as a new runner. Your leg muscles need that day off to repair micro-injuries and strengthen.

I rarely ever run far on a Sunday, so while I have the 1k and 1 mile badges many times I only have 19 5k ones and 2 10k. Long run tends to be a Tuesday for me.

in reply to UnfitNoMore

19 5k ones! And2 10k! You call that rarely! Hihi I hope to be a somewhat good runner one day too
