W5R3 just done . In all my 71 years did I think I would ever run. I was flagging when Laura said 2 mins left so plodded on and completed. What the drivers passing me by thought when I punched the air with both hands and yelled YES I dont know and dont care. Running truly is addictive

Haha, well done. Nothing like a good air punch to celebrate. Who cares what those drivers think! 🎉

I bet those drivers thought ... Good on them and I hope I can run when I am their age! You are marvellous and don't stop smiling ... Maybe stopped the air punching when in the supermarket!

Oh well done! You’ll always remember this run 😊. On my longest run to date I threw my hat in the air - didn’t manage to catch it though 😃! Best of luck with week 6 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️.

YAY!!! I'm just two years behind you (70 next birthday) but a couple of weeks ahead in the programme. W5R3 is a HUGE achievement - I think it's probably the biggest mental barrier. I did W8R1 yesterday and the last couple of minutes were a slog, but I know now that (a) I can do it even if it's slow (who cares anyway?) and (b) it will get better with every subsequent run.

People have been asking me whether I enjoy running, and honestly I can't say I do, or not yet. But I LOVE how I can stride up our hills (the South Downs are, above all, hilly) without even thinking about it any longer - and these were hills I used to avoid like the plague. So the benefits are so so worth it, and I'm going to keep on going...

I talk to Sarah when she asks if I'm proud of myself. I sure am and so should you be.
