Finished first run - what a relief

I'm excited to start (and finish) my first run of my first week. Following knee surgery I've been very cautious about running. The program made it easy to get started!

Welcome to the forum IndyScience well done on your progress so far.

This is essential reading for anyone new to the programme or returning after a break and includes hydration, knee and leg strengthening exercises and stretching after a run, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Super well done IndyScience! The first run can be hard ‘cos we’re not sure what to expect really. But you nailed it 😊.

Well done IndyScience. I'm always impressed by those who take up running after joint surgeries and issues. It's quite inspiring, as it demonstrates it is possible to carry on running if you choose too. That's especially helpful to older folk who are vulnerable to joints wearing out.So thank you, I take my running cap off to you and look forward to hearing about your continued progress. Best wishes ☺️

Don't be scared of moving on with the programme but at the same time if you really can't hack it you can always repeat a run or a whole week. But you will be surprised how much your body can do. I hope you have checked in with your Doctor about starting C25K.

And if you get a persistent pain from running, don't hesitate going to see the Doc. If you get a niggle, an extra day's rest can do wonders. Better be safe after knee surgery.
