Knew I wouldn't get out for a run today, so I forced myself out of the door last evening while there was still plenty of light. My legs were feeling pretty heavy so kept nice and slow (even more than usual!) So why was I running yesterday?
Because this morning, I answered the call for volunteers to marshal at my local Parkrun. Once I'd got over the shock of finding myself in a high-vis jacket at 8.30 on a Saturday morning, I went to my allocated spot and waited. It's so good to watch the first runners as they came towards me, then the main body following behind, then assorted people with children, buggies, dogs, some walking for bits, some for most of it, and the tail walker at the back. The course is two laps, and it was fun watching to see how the runners were faring on their second time around ( the course seems harmless but there is a short but steep hill which catches people out).
It was fun and friendly, and I'll do it again, and hopefully in a few months I'll be running it too π€
The photo is the course before the runners appeared.
