Hello fantastic people,

for reference I started on the 1st March with my wk1 run 1 and was able to complete the program bang on the 30th April. As shocking and happily surprised I was to be able to run 30 mins non stop(albeit only about 3.7km - I hear you I hear you, it's the distance and not speed - plainly informational), for one reason or another I let it just slip away.

Didn't really lose any weight, may be a kg but I was somehow satisfied been able to run for the time. I intent to start again today, wk 1 run 1..I'm fairly confident I shall be able to continue again.

What I'm really after with this message is more around how can I continue after I do the initial wk9…Someone mentioned a consolidation plan(which I did try for a month) but it didn't work as much as the original c25k. has anyone got more options? apps like NRC do have some plans but they seem too daunting to even think about.

Also, I've recently invested in some new shoes too.. fancy, useful - not sure but they seemed to least have some cushioning.

I shall also, mention I've had plantar fasciitis/achilles tendinopathy for years(it just doesn't go away). Ironically, it didn't pain like it does while I was running but not that I've played some cricket it's gone 0-60 in no time! the shoes for information are Nike Infinity Run Flyknit 2

Welcome back.

The plans on Nike have changed recently and currently they only had one for getting started and one for half marathon. They have changed the plans so they are all guided runs, so when other plans drop in they may suit you more than the old ones.

We have the magic plan over on the Bridge to 10k forum that will get you running for 60minutes at a time, once a 30 minute run is comfortable. It could then get you to 10k by doing it distance based. So that could keep you busy for a while.

The other thing to do would be to write your own plan. When you graduate again you can see your average distance covered during consolidation and go distance based from there to complete the 5k distance. I’d be willing to help with that at the time... it is a personal thing as you may as well tailor the run around your life.

Hope this helps.

Hey hey.. thank you for the encouraging words and tips. I shall certainly get back to the 30 mins first and then try the Bridge program. Great idea to keep a diary. I just might take your offer for help then; thank you.
