Starting tomorrow!

Gulp- took me years to stop smoking as I was scared to lose something, even though so bad and had to build up the courage to commit. Once the decision was made I stuck to it. Now I need to commit to the run. I feel a bit embarrassed to be out running as if I am showing off or something. Also once I commit I will have to follow through and I am nervous and not sure I can do this. I will give it a go tomorrow and fingers crossed!

Don't worry. I know how difficult it is to give up smoking. I am now on Week 4 and running is something I thought I would never do but this scheme has given me something to focus on and work towards. Don't stress, just enjoy yourself. Good luck

Well done on making the decision to start C25K. Don't even think about being embarrassed, no-body pays attention to you , they're all in their own little world. ;) The first running steps you take will feel amazing! You suddenly realise you CAN do it.

Take it nice and slowly and follow the plan. You'll be fine.

Looking forward to following your progress x

Welcome to the forum and well done on your decision. This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Hi Run0. Great news that you quit smoking. Looks like you’re making that commitment 👏👏👏to your C25k journey.

Give it a go. Take it slow and steady. As for showing off… well… personally I think making the decision to take that first step out the door is worth showing off about. Don’t worry about people noticing though- they really don’t.

Enjoy!

Don't worry about your appearance. Most people won't even notice you.

I forecast that after a few months you'll be buying running leggings in the brightest patterns available. 🤣

Best of luck!
