I almost completed C25K with one more run to do but then I was struck down by changing my technique because I thought I should and pulled a muscle around the front left near my hip - so now quite some months later I wish to get back to it and start C25K again from the beginning, worried that I will cause an injury again and keen to ensure I start off on the right foot - any guidance/advice would be gratefully received …. What about simple but effective stretches before I start and when I finish would that help?

While an awareness of good technique is valuable, trying to alter what your body does naturally can be fraught with problems. Being relaxed as a runner, or should we say jogger, is far more important than trying to force your body to conform to some ideal, that might be a necessity for an elite athlete.
As recreational runners many of us have developed bad habits, but if you follow the advice in the guide to the plan on minimising impact, pacing, stretching after every run, strengthening exercises and hydration, as well as posture, you won't go far wrong.
Relax and enjoy your journey, don't make it a battle.
