Good morning all and not a huge football supporter... but "Come On England"! ๐๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ
I'm hoping that this post might motivate a few people...
I've now been running on the C25K program for a little over 6 months. Like most here when I started (in the dark, freezing tail end of January) I found Wk1 difficult. However, this morning I was awake at 04:30am (yes I'm an insomniac and suffer with depression) I had to really push myself out the front door as it was run day. So feeling half asleep, not really motivated I started my warm up walk. I run 5K's now every other day and sometimes find that tough going. Jo Whiley sums it up very well when she says "some days you can skip like a gazelle, then there are those days when your legs just feel like lead". Well this morning I had a "Forest Gump" moment. I started my run, slowed my pace a little and thought I'd run a bit further just to see what I could achieve. You'll see from the Strava picture I actually completed just over 7.5K!!! How did I manage that? I stopped, but probably could've ran for longer. So, to those who are maybe struggling with motivation or finding it tough... just keep going with the plan and I'm sure you'll get there. I wish you all the best.

Well done on getting in a cracking run ๐ those endorphins are bouncing ๐๐๐
Hi Ian. I listen to my body and could've done more. I didn't push to the extreme and not a fool... that's why I stopped.Thank you for the cautioning advice.
Hi Tasha99 and thank you for the encouragement. I'm hoping it wasn't just a "one off" ๐ as a bit freaked out I had a sudden amount of extra energy. If it happens again you never know ๐.I did say in a post a while back I had no interest in running a 10K but oddly it could be a huge achievement one day.
Mr IannodaTruffe has expressed his caution. I guess ultimately he's trying to protect from me from injury and overdoing it. At the same time I know my limits and 54 yrs old... not a teenager trying to prove I'm invincible! Others have encouraged which is great. I'm actually training for my Race For Life in Oct. Thanks for the support.
Congratulations, I like you run 5k every other day, recently increased to 6k and Sunday just gone 6.71 but I always run in a loop (ever expanding one thankfully) so I am intrigued about people like you who run the whole distance one way, what do you do when you get to the end? just turn round and walk back or does someone pick you up?
Hi rayvinloon and thank you. I don't run one way as a long walk back otherwise ๐.
My Strava pic from yesterday shows one of my routes. I have to mix it up as get bored and I don't really enjoy running if I'm honest. It's probably something to do with my depression as don't get that post run buzz. I usually listen to the C25K App in conjunction with my running playlist. However, Sunday I wasn't listening to the App... I just started and thought I'd try a longer distance ๐คญ. Best wishes.
