I finished! I actually did it! I couldn’t even run for 1 minute in the first week and had to repeat several weeks because I didn’t feel ready to move on. This is the first time I have run in all the 65 years of my life. I can’t yet say that I love it, it’s still a drudge to me, but the sense of achievement I feel after completing the plan is enormous! We had pizzas with friends to celebrate 🎉 😂 Thank you for the invaluable encouragement, inspiration and information I have found on this forum.

Morning Dee! Absolutely fantastic feeling! I’m ready to work on my pace now. I’ve decided to go out at the same three times next week and just set the timer on my phone for 30 mins and see how far I get each time. Hope you are feeling great this morning too 😎👍🏻🎉

That’s fantastic news Granny Pig.I graduated last year but haven’t exercised properly since.
I’ve just come back into this forum and your post was the first I read and it’s providing me with lots of inspiration!!
Well done you 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Hello, thanks for your reply. My worry is that without the structure of the plan, I won’t have anything to work towards so I’m currently making my own plan and deciding on a few challenges. I am far from fit and I shuffle rather than run, so that’s what I shall work on ….. but getting out for 45 mins three times a week is SO much better than what I was doing before. It’s not something I enjoy so I’m constantly having to make myself do it - I’m hoping that may change, but I don’t want to ‘waste’ all my effort from the last 16 weeks or so. I hope you get back into it …. It’s a nice time of year to be out and about at least!!!
I totally get what you mean re structure. When I graduated last year I kind of lost momentum and didn’t feel fit enough to bridge to 10K.
I also do not enjoy running although I always enjoy how it makes me feel afterwards!!
I think I’ll start this Monday on Week 5 and see how I go. I’m 51 and peri menopausal so keeping the weight off isn’t as easy as it used to be!!
I hear you ….. it’s a kinda needs must sort of thing. Don’t like doing it but know it does us good and we’ll feel better afterwards. It’s my pacemaker and under active thyroid that seem to limit me although I’m fighting with them currently! That sounds like a plan though, start at week 5 and get back to the challenge slowly. No need to aim for 10k 😱 crikey!! It’ll be years till I manage 5k but i can shuffle along like a slug for 30 mins now which is a miracle!! Good luck!
Great fantastic bet you’re feeling good well done
Congratulations GrannyPigsPerfume 🧑🏻🎓💥🎉🏃🏻♀️💪🤩 what an achievement! I know what you mean about the drudge, sometimes 1/2 through a run I think why am I doing this 😂 but then I slow down and think actually I can do this and it feels amazing! Always feel great after a run. Well done you! 😁
I managed 3 running sessions last week but it’s pouring here so will give it a miss today!
Wow, excellent running! I never want to go out when it’s raining … always scared of slipping over plus I don’t want to get my lovely trainers wet and muddy 😜😂😂😂
Yes I know what you mean re the slipping!!It’s actually really sunny here now but I’ve just finished cleaning my bathroom and need a rest!
Will hopefully do my first run of the week tomorrow 🤞🏻
