Decided to try out my new toy this morning and, although I prefer outdoor running to treadmill, I think it will come in handy for dark winter nights (no streetlights here!). If weather allows I’ll be outside for the rest of Graduation week I hope! Does anyone else feel wobbly when they step off a treadmill?! Felt like I’d been on a boat 🥴

W9R1 on a treadmill
Oooh nice 😁Not been on a treadmill for years !
Congratulations with your progress and enjoy the rest of week 9 😬👍
Looks great ! And with a view but I’m afraid never been on a treadmill though.
The last time I used a treadmill was several years ago at the gym, and only for walking. I've never actually run on one.
The solution for no street lighting is to get a head torch or body torch. On one of my winter runs I heard an owl hoot, looked up and caught sight the owl flying overhead in the beam of the torch. You don't get that on a treadmill.
I agree, being outside so much nicer but even with a head torch not sure the roads where I live would be very safe on dark evenings. Just trying to ensure I have no excuse not to continue even if it’s a combination of daytime running outside (when work allows) and treadmill as the fall back xx
I got one just after I finished c25k the first time and it is useful for dark rainy nights so there’s no excuse, but also I don’t feel comfortable running in the dark on my own. I find watching stuff on iplayer on my iPad makes the time pass (it does seem to pass more slowly on the treadmill 😂)
Yes, first couple steps are a bit wobbly
Nice, and a lovely view. I’ve never been on a treadmill so I don’t know about wobbling off at the end of a run. Nice too to exercise the dog on wet days!!
Sadly my 16 year old dog sleeps 23.5 hours a day 🐶
Good to get to 16🙂 I lost Clara, my yellow Labrador, at 14 years 9 months last February. I’m still not over it. 🦮💔
It’s really tough when they go. Lost my 17 year old cat last month 🐱😢, still miss his meowing and cuddles.
Know the feeling. Lost my beloved standard poodle at 13 two years ago. Will never really get over it 😢
My Clara was like a daughter to me.
I’ve done all the C25k on my treadmill and yes I do feel a bit wobbly when I step off it. It helps if I wait a few seconds after it’s stopped before stepping off. I start week 9 tomorrow morning 😀
Nice! You can do all sorts on a treadmill, walking lunges, side lunges, etc. Although you can of course run on them as well! Well done on your run, the end is so close. 😊😊😊
I found I felt a bit wobbly and disoriented the first couple of times I ran non-stop on a treadmill for more than 5 mins - I suffer from motion sickness anyway, so thought I probably would! But it didn’t last, I found my body soon got used to it. Enjoy 😊
Lol yes I’m always afraid I’ll fall when I’m getting off and I’m definitely walking funny 😂
I’ve done most of my programme on a treadmill whilst I wait for a podiatrist appt for my dodgy feet (there seems to be less impact on the treadmill). Yes I did get a little bit dizzy Carter stepping off at first anyway! I was watching Netflix during the runs in the earlier weeks but I’ve more recently purchased a spin bike too and am subscribing to Zwift for a while which covers both indoor cycling and indoor running (connects via Bluetooth or if your treadmill doesn’t have Bluetooth you can buy a zwift foot pod like I did); I find it’s more fun that watching Netflix - just thought I’d mention it as an option if you also like indoor cycling.
Great view. My treadmill faces a solid wall 😳😏. I use my treadmill on dark winter evenings. I also find it really good for interval runs as you can control speed easily. I’d rather run outside but I’m grateful for my treadmill. A guided run or a playlist of banging tunes helps to stave off the boredom. A fan helps with the heat 🥵Yep wobbly 🤪. Enjoy your new toy.
Thanks Frizzbomb, interval runs are something I hadn’t thought about, will graduate first then consider such advanced things! 😁
