For the first time since week 6 of C25k, I had to resort to having a couple of walking intervals in tonight’s run. I’m putting it down to the heat as I’ve been doing well with gradually increasing my time/pace in my consolidation runs and managed 4k last weekend. Bit disappointed but back to it on Saturday and hoping for a better result 🤞🏻

Defeated by the heat 🥵
It is much cooler first thing in the morning.
It does zap us doesn't it! Our temperatures here change so quickly, we do not have time to get used to things!

Check this post out... make sure your hydration is still good and just go with the flow. Even take some water with you...not too drink but to pour over your wrists or on the back of your neck
Listen, as you are doing, to your body and, if you can find a cooler time to run , maybe that is the way to go?
I too have struggled to complete runs during the heat. I have changed the time I go, made extra sure I hydrate, I make sure that the majority of the run is in the shade (I run in our local park) and I have also come to accept that some runs just aren’t meant to be. The advice I got here was really valuable.
I have learnt along the way that there will be some days that I just can’t do it. I run my consolidation run on Tuesday (full 30mins) but yesterday I really struggled so just stopped at 28mins and that was fine for me.
Yes, we were out just after 8 this morning and struggled in the heat, so cut the run short.. 🥴🥵Always good to be out over the park though.. 😊
