Working from home the majority of the week has really taken its toll on my daily step count and also my general fitness. I did C25K for the second time during lockdown last year and then slipped and landed on my knee - so couldn’t run for a while. Then I lost my dad in January and lost my motivation altogether.

Doing ‘a’ run was on my ‘to do’ list for my week off this week. So in a moment of ‘just do it’ I’ve reset my app and am going to start again. This time with Laura! (Is there a medal for completing the app with all trainers?)

I’m not a natural runner, my legs get really heavy, especially in the heat, and I’m a plodder but I do know I can feel much healthier and fitter when I am running. I’m not getting younger and I’m planning my retirement so I want it to be a fit and active one!

Well done Crittermad If you up that water intake, you'll probably see a definite improvement in those legs feeling lighter 👍

Thanks I’ve been making an effort to have no caffeine after 12 noon and to drink 2 jugs of water in the afternoon for the last 6 months or so - so will have to see if I can see a difference this time around

Well done on starting again after coming through a tough time ! 👏👏👏I like your commitment .

And as already said , more water intake will help the heavy legs 👍

Thanks, the first time I did it I found this forum a massive support and positive peer pressure and am still in touch with my classmates. For some reason I didn’t use it so much last year (possibly lack of time, it was before and first few months of pandemic so work was super stressful) so I will definitely use the forum this time around, and go back and read all the articles again.

Keep running, I’m retired and finish C25K tomorrow. I started running again as I lost Clara, my yellow Labrador last February, and she help me get over the loss of my wife nine years ago. Keep up all the good work and effort you’ve already put in.

I can relate to that. All those weeks of home working ... my weight has gone up even though I try. It has to be the lack of activity. Good for you. You will be able to tell us which trainer you prefer. Watch out for tree roots!

It’s really affected my step count and my weight has crept up - I’ve also been trying to eat healthily but it’s not enough. At least in the office I walk to the ladies, kitchen, printer etc which are all the opposite end of the office from me; at home my toilet is literally 6 steps from my office!

I can walk to the office on a nice day, it’s only about a mile, but now I have so much stuff to carry between my home office and work office that I have to take the car, so that’s another reduction!

Yes I will see how the trainers compare- I has Sarah the first time, then Michael 😀

I found Jo a much better "trainer" than Sarah.

I don’t normally count my steps daily, but I agree, walking around the office etc must make a difference. There’s no other explanation - so frustrating.

Hello critter max! I’m a second time c25ker after taking a very active job and am back to the start again! I’m hoping it’s a bit easier this time around! I will follow your journey alongside my own and we can celebrate each other’s successes!

Great! I’m sure being active in your job will be a benefit for your general fitness so 🤞 it’s easier!
