I just did my second run yesterday. Monday was my first day, I have never run, when we had to do the 1Km in high school I will always feel sick and never finish it (i am 36 now).
When I went for my first run on Monday, the first 60 seconds were painful and I had to push myself because I didn’t think I’ll make it, then every 60 sec run got easier and by the time I finished I felt so proud! I got home with a smile on my self and I had so much energy! Tuesday I was also super energetic, it was rest day so I finally cleaned the windows! Since then I could not wait to go running again, and i had to wait until yesterday due to an electric storm ( dont want to die fried while I run thank you 😂). Yesterday felt so easy! I almost wanted to do Run 3 straight away, and again I feel like I cannot wait to for mu run tomorrow.
Does everybody get hooked like this? I am also a stay at home mum of 2 under 5 with almost no me time, so running is now my me times, and it guarantees me a shower every 2 days! yey!
Sorry for the long post. Keep up the good work, we can do this!

I didn't get hooked until I'd reached Week 3. It took three attempts to get that far.
I started the day after the first lockdown was announced. I ended my first attempt during W1R3 by feeling nauseous with a stitch and cold sweats.
During the second attempt I didn't realise I needed extra hydration and ended it at W2R3 with a bit of intestinal discomfort due to dehydration. I also found out that the medication I was on had a strong contra-indication against strenuous exercise.
I made my third attempt about six weeks after finishing the medication, spread four week 1 runs over a couple of weeks, then started a regular "every other day" routine, and continued to graduation on that attempt (end of August 2020).
Now I do a short (20 minute) run in the morning when I can, and that sets me up for the day. Normally I'll do a medium length run midweek (about 40 minutes) and a longer run (over an hour) at weekend, but I'm recovering from a minor injury at the moment.
Welcome to the runner's high. We don't all get it all the time, but once you've experienced it, you're generally hooked. It's what many of us do it for!
