Yeeeeeessssssss. I did it. 20 mins of non-stop running (very slow jogging). I'm very proud of myself because I started with zero fitness and I'm very overweight but I have, so far, not needed to repeat any runs at all and am definitely on the home straight now to graduation. IT CAN BE DONE! To be honest, I'm putting weight on rather than losing which is a bit disappointing but I'm persevering and feel like I'm getting a bit fitter.
What apps do you all use to measure your distance etc? I think I did 3k today, according to the health app on my phone but I'm not sure how accurate that is. I don't have a smartwatch. Recommendations, please.

Yessss!! Well done! Me too - just finished the same one. I found it super hard to keep going but did it. We’re awesome! I used to use Map My Run which was good. Keep going!
You have got this in the bag now well done!!!! I have got my week 5 run 3 on Saturday 😬 eep! So it's fab to read your post, I'm excited to have a go at 20 mins continuously running. I use strava to record my runs just on my phone in my pocket I don't have a fitness watch. I think I'm also putting weight on, but I did read on this forum that this plan won't really help to aid weight loss but once you can run and are regularly doing 3 30 min runs a week then you might start to notice the weight loss so for me that's what I'm aiming for and not really thinking about weight loss while doing this C25k plan.
Thanks, Popstess! It does feel great to have done it. I'll be cheering you on Saturday. YOU CAN DO IT! I'm hopeful too that I will start to lose some weight when I'm running for 30 mins 3 x week. I'm going to start doing some yoga too to help tone up. I feel a bit sore tonight in my calves and thighs but I know I'll be ok tomorrow. My next run will be Sunday - week 6! Who'd have thought I'd get this far? WE GOT THIS. Good luck for Saturday and let me know how it went 😁😁😁🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️👍👍👍
Thank you Pigpog (love that username btw) yoga sounds good. I've been doing some strength training on and off on my rest days from C25k but i need to get more regular with them.
I've also been using an app called lose it, it's a bit like myfitnesspal to track calories but I keep going over my daily allowance 😞 I'm still tracking though in the hope it'll get me into the habit of making healthier choices and cutting the junk out a bit. I think it'll fall into place for us once we've graduated but one step at a time is more manageable than trying to do everything at once.
Thank you I'll be needing that cheering on on Saturday ☺️☺️☺️
I'll have to have a look at the Lose It app but I'm not good with having to count calories. I do eat healthily on the whole but chocolate is my downfall. I need to do more exercise and eat less in general but it's not always easy. I'm hoping that once I graduate, I can start to slowly build up my fitness and go further and run a little faster.. I'm in it for the long haul so however long it takes, I'll get there eventually. GOOD LUCK FOR TOMORROW - YOU'LL ACE IT!!! 😁👍🏃♀️
No I'm not good with counting calories either honestly. I think your plan sounds better. I did read on here someone recommended doing 10,000 steps on the rest days from C25k to lose weight. I do think when we have graduated and are running the full 30 mins 3 times a week that should surely make a difference to our weight.
Thank you, it's forecast to pour down with rain all day tomorrow, typical 🙄🙄 oh well at least my usually route will be quiet lol
