Week 2 - just do it!

Run 1 of week 2 done... and despite the odd aches & pains, I enjoyed it. I even wanted to keep going!

I think I've worked out that the internal fight in my brain against all of the excuses not to run is actually harder than completing the runs. I realise its only week2, but I find the mental battle to keep going once I'm running is far easier to deal with than than the pre run excuses. With any luck routine and habit will sort that, but I think i need to work out how to win that battle every time for a while yet. The support and motivation that I've received so far from this community certainly helps. I'm thankful for that. 😊

By the way... there are no biscuits in my house anymore. As of last week, I decided that I'm no longer a biscuit eater. I'll have to come up with a new name!

Gosh - you’re good! I didn’t realise that the battle was in my brain and not my legs until week 5-6! You’re absolutely right though, most of the challenges are in your head!

Also - good for you with the biscuit situation! If only I could say the same....sometimes the only reason I finish a run is so I can have a biscuit as a reward! 😉

Biscuits are great, but I had a very familiar relationship with my biscuit tin. Nothing wrong with a treat now and again... I've just decided that no biscuit will live in my house again as I can't be trusted. 😆

And it is for that reason I refuse to buy Jaffa cakes...... I will consume them all within minutes and not even bat an eye lid! 🙄

Oh yes, I had to bannish Jaffa Cakes a while ago. It's impossible to only eat one or two. Mmmmm....Jaffa Cakes - they're sooo goooood! 😆

Well done.

You are so right. We limit ourselves by telling ourselves that we will never be able to do something or finding excuses not to do it, probably because we lack the confidence in our abilities.

C25k is an amazingly empowering little training plan and has changed so many lives over the last twenty five years.........as well as helping people ditch the the biscuits.

This post about mental approach may help, although you seem to be doing great anyway healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Keep running, keep smiling.
