Being tucked away doing home office most of the year without excersise - not exactly a couch potato, but same effect, and inspired by a friend who already tried this I decided to get motivated with C25K. Today was Day1 and so far I think its brilliant. The voice guidance is really motivating and the music seems to just keep you going, and I was really surprised that I could even complete this day 1 course as a true couch starter, so to speak. I did get problems with shin-splints for a while and also tend to get problems in the ankle joints when running, so I'll be keeping a keen eye on that, but all in all, I think I deserve a pat on the back today.
Its interesting to hear how other beginners are doing in this forum too.
So far so good

Thanks very much for the tips.I read through all the guide(s) and found them very useful.
Nevertheless, even at snail pace my 2nd run lasted, well, .. just 10 seconds. The pain in my left foot was too much so I purposely stopped so as not to do more damage, then limped home again. A few days later developped pain in the foot joint when walking, but now a week later it seems to have healed somewhat. Power I have, the will I have, right-foot all ok - I'm sure I could hop around no problem on my right foot, but looks like I have some physical condition in the left foot that just cannot take the severe pounding of an extremely light jog. Another weeks rest and I'll give it another go
Another vote from me for a physio visit before you try running again. If it's become painful after only a few seconds' jogging, something needs looking at before you hurt yourself again.
Well done for taking the first step! It’s a great programme and if you follow it to the letter it eases you up to each stage at exactly the right level of challenge. Good luck! 😊
It is indeed. Its the exact frequency I hear all the time 24x7. I joined Healthline through a different forum and that's the (strange) name that I chose. But don't worry, I'll be getting that fixed, both the T and the strange user name 🙂
