A surprise run

I graduated 2 months ago but still haven't quite made 5k......until today πŸ˜€

I have only been able to run once a week since graduation due to this and that but because of being unwell last week I hadn't run for 2 and a half weeks, so I set off today for a short, slow run to get back into it. But, although very slow, I amazed myself and just kept going. 5.25k later and a very happy me I went home thinking that it's amazing how quickly you can pick up again.

I'm still not a lover of running but I find myself missing it if I don't do it. But I do love the after feeling of a good run and being just a bit breathless. I think I'm being converted without realising it. Happy weekend everyone ☺

Congratulations on completing your first 5k despite having not run for a little while, so you like running rather than love it, in that case run shorter runs two or three times a week , not long runs 4 or 5 times a week like some people do on this forum. 😊

I think that is wise advice. I will never be a marathon runner that's for sure but I do like a run a few times a week. I would eventually like to hit a 10k but that is a very long term goal with no pressure. If it doesn't happen it's not the end of the world. At least I'm still getting out there.πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Great advice from Almorr, and heck isn't it brilliant when you get to that 5k! πŸŽ‰πŸ»
