Got run 3 coming up tomorrow although the best I’ve managed so far is 4.04k so I’m under no illusions about doing 5k in 30 mins or at all just yet.
Nonetheless, I’m pleased enough to have just made it this far as after two stints in hospital last year (the consequences of a somewhat lengthy battle with alcoholism and depression), I was unable to walk without a stick until December (and still need it occasionally). My first 20min run was horrendous and I’m happy to have proven myself wrong about that being my limit. My first 25min run was fine.🤷♂️
I’m now 162 days dry and loving what I consider to be my new hobby and my next step will be to get to 5k whatever the time and then who knows?
I’d certainly recommend this to others who have undergone similar struggles as it’s played a big part in both the physical and mental side of my ongoing recovery.
Although I’ve not posted much (only found this in wk6), it’s been good to read about other people’s experiences along the way too. Any tips about how to what to do next would be welcome.
Happy running all!👍
