Just one week to graduation - very exciting! I’m confident I can do it now. I’ve said it before but it’s worth repeating. In W2 I struggled to run for 90 secs and almost threw up. Incredible programme that has transformed me!
W8 complete: Just one week to graduation - very... - Couch to 5K
W8 complete
Huge well done you. Yes, the plan does work and followed slowly and steadily, it gets you to where you wish to be. I am repeating it again after illness.. and it works just as well!
Looking forward to seeing you on that podium... we will be waiting!
As Theodore Roosevelt said, "Believe you can and you’re halfway there".
That is so good. Just think of W9 as a repeat of W8 with just a few more steps. That is all it is, and we all know that you can do it.So nearly there...
Well done, and as of 10 minutes ago I'm in exactly the same boat - only week nine to go!I ran the middle run of week eight on Wednesday, and the last one today, so why was Wednesday's run fun, when today's run felt like it was trying to kill me?! I've got a two day break to enjoy now, so hopefully Monday will be fine again.
I've been cheating a bit though and for week eight I've already been doing the full 30 minutes - I just felt like I was ready. Monday and Wednesday were great - I did doubt my sanity today though...
Best of luck for week nine though - it'll be fine!! See you back here on Friday hopefully. 😁
Hi. I finished it today, but like you, I was naughty. I have been running 30s since the end of W7, so today's was my 7th 30.Was it your legs or body that caused you problems? I find that over striding plays havoc with the old pins, whilst not eating correctly the night before does the same with the upper body. Lack of sleep just ruins everything though.
Good luck with next week. We all know that you can do this.
It was weird today - it was like for the first couple of minutes I was drunk and couldn't quite get into a rhythm. I settled into into after a few minutes but found it tough going, although I never thought about actually stopping.I was exactly 1 minute slower than Wedneday, but to be honest I'm still pretty chuffed to be running 5k in around half an hour at the ripe old age of 51 having never run before. It can only get better.
Groovy. 😊
