I wore red lipstick to mark the last run of my CT5K journey. I felt I deserved to make an effort and celebrate my achievement. So me and my red lipstick warmed up, left the house and started the app.
I did my 5 minute warm up walk, and began to run when the time came. I passed the trees I wanted to lean on in week 4 to catch my breath, I passed all the benches I wanted to sit down on in week 7 because my legs ached, I passed the usual runners and gave them a wave and a smile... they all smiled back.
I passed the elderly couple again, got a big thumbs up from them, they smiled at me too... that made me laugh.
I ran up the hill Iβve avoided tackling for fear of failing, today I would not fail... today I was wearing red lipstick. I ran up that flippin hill and did a momentary jump like Rocky at the top, and then began my run back down the hill.
I ran past all the trees, and all the benches again, I sprinted at the finish and felt good. At the end of the run I slowed down into a walk and heard someone call my name... I turned around and my husband was standing there - heβd come to watch my last run.
Needless to say I cried (again) and he and I walked back home hand in hand....just like the elderly couple that have encouraged me to succeed.
When I got home he gave me a card, a medal with my name on and a certificate to celebrate my achievement - he knew how much completing this programme meant to me and has been a constant source of support throughout.
My parents have sent me flowers, chocolates and a lovely card, I miss them so much and it made me cry.... yet again.
So yes... I worked hard, I stuck at it and I succeeded. Today I won! And all those that love me shared in my success. I am blessed.
Huge thanks to you all for the support, I wish each and every one of you the very best.
Iβve said it before, and Iβll say it again...
It isnβt always easy.... but it is always worth it!

I was honoured π, just remember those consolidation runs, this is your time to let your running develop! Relax, try new routes run without music perhaps? Try hills and intervals it only gets better! Just remember the lippy π
Yep, Iβm in no rush for anything, going to spend a few weeks consolidating and trying different routes. Now that Iβve done one hill I may well try a few more. Itβs a big wide world out there!
Jilldiamond you can do it. Just do one run at a time and youβll get there. This lot will help you to stay motivated so keep posting your journey! Good luck π€πΌ

Woo hoo! A big well done SassF. This was such an enjoyable read and it brought a tear to my eye. I will be following in your footsteps on Sunday but won't be lucky like you with flowers and things. Keep on this sight and let us all know what you decide to do after your success. Good luck.
πcheers. I couldnβt have wished for a better final run of the programme. Iβd planned to just keep everything the same just like I normally do... but my Husband had other ideas βΊοΈ

Thank you ele123 I never knew how happy a medal could make me, (apart from when I took a shower) it hasnβt been off me all day! Iβll probably wear it for at least a week ππ
Thatβs so funny! I might buy myself a medal too f**k it! Iβll go on ebay now!! Actually what a great idea since Iβve corrupted my sister and my friend to do C25K Iβll buy them medals too ππππ theyβre both on week 4. I am proud of myself for convincing ppl to do it this is my new mission in life, especially my friend is the laziest person in the world and it just changed her life so C25K should come with a next mission of enrolling at least 5 people ππΌππΌππΌππΌ

Same. I really want to keep it up! Even made myself a training plan for the next month so I know what Iβm doing on which days.
Starting Strength & flex this week too... couldnβt manage it all at the same time as doing the programme. Hopefully itβll help build up my core a bit... tried a plank last night.... didnβt go well ππ¬
I tried strength and flex about week 4 I think and fell over doing a stretch.. tried again a couple of weeks later and was much easier but havent tried again so might give it a go tomorrow, π€ͺ
Yep, I was super happy to have graduated. Almost seemed unreal after seeing so many before me get to that point and then suddenly it was my turn. π³ itβs a great feeling! π
Hey Curlygurly2 thank you!Yes heβs an absolute gem of a man. He has absolute faith in me and supports me with anything 100%. I am a lucky girl to have him in my life.
Iβm getting used to the badge... I love it! Maybe one day Iβll get my 10Graduate one on the other side! Iβll try my very best! π
My husband is lovely too, all those years ago, when I was very new, I was so looking forward to my first parkrun. I got misdirected and came in last - I cried... he made me a medal with tin foil and rivets, it's still my favourite!
