Just me? That wasn’t a pleasant experience. 1st consolidation run today and I was ready to give up at 20 minutes, felt completely exhausted and was definitely doing the slowest slow run in slowsville.
Not sure what it was - maybe I ate too much risotto last night or maybe my new sports bra is jinxed 🤔
Onwards onto a better run on Wednesday! 🤞

Well done for managing to push through to the end of the run. I did my first one this morning too x
I really didn’t want to keep going. I just knew I would feel such a failure if I stopped. My son said it was maybe because I was worrying about the time and having to get back for the school run. Better to go after I’ve unloaded him maybe.
How was your run, did you do 30 mins or go further?
I did 30 minutes, I didn't check the distance, I'd like to get a bit more comfortable at 30 minutes before I try anything else. I've downloaded the Nike run club app, (recommended by Couchpheonix this morning. Have a look, it might help xx
This App is incredible once you get used to finding the runs. I’m post the plan, finished Nov last year. I find motivation and mindset a real issue now! Just want to quit - and once you do once then there’s no stopping you 😬 This app has got me through the last few outings!!
You don't need to do 30 minutes..if you don't want to...mix it up...a short run..a 30 minutes.. a see where I get to, one...a new route and run just because you can...
Enjoy the new running legs...let them have dome some fun .
Definitely isn’t just you! This was exactly how I felt for my first 5 consolidation runs! Things turned round when I just relaxed into it and mixed up the routes and timings - loving my runs now - keep going!
Oh no, you mean I’ll feel like this for 4 more runs!! 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ I deffo think I need some new routes but have even less time (to go driving anywhere) now schools are back and the school run is on.
Have you tried the Nike Run Club app for your consolidation runs. There are lots of coached runs on there to choose from and it makes them so much more enjoyable. It’s free too 👍🏃♀️
I did 3 consolidation runs last week and pretty much despised every one! I don’t know whether it was because I’d graduated so no longer felt that determination to complete the course but I was so deflated. I took a few rest days then tried my favourite run (week 8, 28mins) on Saturday and just relaxed, blasted my fav tunes and, most importantly, SMILED! It was absolutely awesome! I think like everyone has said change it up whether that’s the route, the tunes, the pace or your mindset. Just keep going and don’t feel you always have to do 30. I haven’t done a 30 since I graduated but I’m busy at work so lots in brain. Just relax, find your zone and let your legs do the work. Good luck! Xxxxxx
Sorry forgot to also say no run is a step backwards. Any run is better than no run. It took me 29 weeks to complete couch to 5K but each run repeated was a stepping stone to better fitness and stamina. Just do what you can and be proud of it! Xxxxxx
