30 minutes running, 3.2k done.. it’s going to take me a long time to get to 5k! But this one was a bit easier than the week 9 runs and I feel a lot more of a sense of achievement today for some reason.. I felt quite deflated and exhausted for some reason after the graduation run.. maybe a four day lazy long weekend off, with just dog walking has had something to do with it!😊
Consolidation Run No.1: 30 minutes running, 3.2k... - Couch to 5K
Consolidation Run No.1
Hi Peggy well done... i have 4 more runs to do before graduating and feel confident i can do it...however i too am disappointed my 30 minutes will not get me near the 5k mark!
The administrator Iannoda Truffe posted a poll about a year ago with a pie chart showing percentages of those who actually ran 5k in 30 minutes by the end of the plan was quite small.. less than a quarter I think. A small percentage, like me, only managed around 3k.. I’m just happy to have made it onto the chart.. actually still buzzing this morning! So much so that I’m enjoying vacuuming for once..😊
Well done your doing fantastic, keep up the good work x
Oh Peggy I actually missed your graduation post. Congratulations! I hope you carry on enjoying the consolidation runs. Distance is not important - I didn't get anywhere near it either. Who cares - we can run for 30 minutes and we're fabulous!
Thank you Fiona, I do feel fabulous today! I even came home full of energy and did a load of housework before lunch.. so I feel even better now sitting in the garden reading, knowing the house is clean and tidy.. think I might have to bake some raspberry buns to celebrate soon..😊
Well done Peggy! I did my second 30 min consolidation run today which was ok but I felt quite tired at the end - I didn’t have Michael but I did use a timer on my phone. 5K is still a way off for me too but we’ll get there!
Thanks Hettie.. and well done to you too!
I think I probably need to have more than one day’s rest between runs - I do get very tired..🙄
For this consolidation run I actually listened to Laura’s week 2 of couch to 5k - I started it after my 5 minute warm up, then ignored her instructions.. she just gave me an idea of time passing.. as I don’t possess a watch.. thinking I might get a Garmin though - wedding anniversary soon..😊
I got a garmin vivoactive 4s for my birthday as they had a great offer on at John Lewis that included bluetooth headphones. I really love it.
That’s funny I’ve just done a sort of questionnaire that came up via google and it recommended either that one or the FenixS - I was trying to work out the difference between them - I definitely prefer the look of the vivoactiveS and I like that it’s small - I’m five foot nothing and very small wrists.. I want to use it for swimming as well if we ever get back to it, and music, so it looks great.. glad you recommend it 😊
I've got really small wrists too which is one of the reasons I went for it - well, the sale was a bit of a decider as well 😁. You can track swimming and all manner of things with it on.
