14K is a good walk and 2 cute friends 😁

Believe it or not, that part of my walk this morning is part of an annual 21K trail run, I had walking boots this morning, if I ran on that part I would have my trail shoes on.

That would be a good trail !I just did a short 3.5k run this morning 😁

I saw something rather similar when I looked in the mirror at 530 this morning before heading off to work! Only I looked slightly grumpier.

Surely not🤣😀

Some people are saying that's what they look like first thing in the morning, I am sure that doesn't apply to you.

Jools2020 profile image
Jools2020Graduate in reply to AlMorr

Haha, well now, I think I look pretty good all the time, although I can’t be sure as I don’t put my glasses on first thing 😂

His 'hair' was covering his eyes, he could still see.

That’s a good walk love your picture. Your sciatica must be better? Only did a slow 5km 😀

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate in reply to Doris8

I enjoyed my walk this morning, glad you like my photo, my sciatica is almost gone, it would be back if I had ran that distance today, I ran two kilometers more than that last year when I ran 16K/10 miles but not on that route, well done on your 5K today. 😊

Awww I love seeing all the animals and wildlife on my walks and runs 👏👏👏

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate in reply to Tinytears60

Glad you like the photo TT60, I am fortunate to live very near the countryside so it doesn't take long, even walking to get there, although I live "miles" from the seaside.

They are gorgeous!!

AlMorr profile image

That small cow was like a baby compared to the other 7 I saw this morning, he's so cute.

what a lovely sight to see on your walk. the ones I meet are a lot tamer than those two look!! Bo run or walk for me today, weeding instead phew!!!

AlMorr profile image

There were about another 8 cows that I passed this morning, we in Scotland call those type of cattle "heeland coos" Highland Cows, they were put there from the Scottish Highlands probably to avoid the severe winter weather in the Highlands, there was a notice saying the cows are only there for the winter months and will go back to the Highlands in the Spring.

Jools2020 profile image
Jools2020Graduate

That’s a good distance for a walk, Al! Not so sure I could manage that - I find slow jogging much easier than walking. Lovely pic!

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate in reply to Jools2020

I am not sure what I would feel like if I had ran that route I walked this morning, putting aside my recent sore leg, last Sunday after a slower 8K walk my right leg was much sorer than the longer quicker 14K walk of today, so it is getting better, I am sure if I had ran that 14K route today the pain and sciatica would be back with a bang.

Jools2020 profile image
Jools2020Graduate in reply to AlMorr

You’ve done the right thing in taking care. Hopefully it won’t be too long until you are able to run again.

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate in reply to Jools2020

Thanks Jools2020, I will go a short run on Wednesday and run my 38th (not) parkrun next Saturday, although I may walk a little of that run.

Aren’t they gorgeous, long time I have seen them in real life but sister paints them

AlMorr profile image

The cows that I saw this morning are young compared to the cows that your sister painted.

Very true

That does look like me! Well my Username photo at least. I only walked 8k today. So many people (and joggers!). You really are on the mend.

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate in reply to Rennur

So you think "that little boy" looks like you in your username photo, lol, have you seen my username photo?I saw about 20 walkers, 11 runners, 8 cows and 7 🚴 cyclists on my walk this morning

Beatlesforever profile image
BeatlesforeverGraduate

Amazing, that's quite a walk! And an added treat 🐮 How was your not parkrun yesterday?

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate in reply to Beatlesforever

Thanks Beatlesforever, I ran my 50th virtual parkrun yesterday in a time of 42.19, I ran/walked /jeffing as they call it for the first 4 kilometers, the last kilometer I ran non stop at a pace of 7.51 km, my legs did not feel too sore after the run enabling me to get that 14K walk this morning.

Beatlesforever profile image
BeatlesforeverGraduate in reply to AlMorr

Fantastic news! Very glad to hear your legs weren't sore. Hopefully you're well on the mend now 👏👏👏

Hi cuties! So lovely. Hope you had an enjoyable walk

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate in reply to Couchpotato2

I had a enjoyable walk today CP2, I saw 8 cows, 7 🚴 cyclists, 11 runners🏃🏾 and 20 walkers,🚶 so everyone including myself had a good morning out in the fresh air.

Couchpotato2 profile image
Couchpotato2Graduate in reply to AlMorr

sounds like it! yesterday on my run I saw about 20 horses (3 very friendly ones), 1 sheem 1 goat with 2 billy goats, 1 rabbit and 1 ultra runner. I'll try and keep a more precise count next time :-)

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate in reply to Couchpotato2

One of the runners I saw this morning was a gazelle, I estimated that he was running at sub 25 minute 5K pace, perhaps around 22 minutes, the other runners were around the 28/36 minute 5K pace.

Couchpotato2 profile image
Couchpotato2Graduate in reply to AlMorr

Impressed with your eye for these things. I came to a lovely pub yesterday and there was another runner there so we had a chat. She said she's trying to do 20 miles each weekend (up hills). I was quite impressed with her!

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate in reply to Couchpotato2

Strangely enough the only time I have been able to talk to a runner is when I am on my bike cycling the same way as the runner, there was one last year who told me that he was running a half marathon, I wished him luck.

So beautiful, gifts of long walks in beautiful places. 😍

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate in reply to limu_mu

That part where the cows are was the muddiest part of the whole walk, the cows have churned the ground into a sea of mud if you look closely at the photograph.

limu_mu profile image
limu_muGraduate in reply to AlMorr

True, but I was distracted by insanely cute highland cattle.

I enjoyed my walk this morning Buddy34, you have recently taken photos of ponies during some of your runs so I took that photo of that cute little cow for everyone to see.

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate in reply to chunkypie

Lol chunky pie, you met a girl who could not see you because her hair covered her eyes, just like that little cow in the photo.

chunkypie profile image
chunkypieGraduate in reply to AlMorr

Yep but she had a nice personality lol

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate in reply to chunkypie

Ha ha, I am not sure about the personality of that cute little 🐮cow.

Oldfloss profile image

Oh WOW!!!!! They are beoootiful!

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate in reply to Oldfloss

Glad that you like the photo Oldfloss, that little cow was covered in mud, but I don't think she was bothered about that.

Oldfloss profile image
OldflossAdministratorGraduate in reply to AlMorr

I am doing a painting of a Highland cow...but it is not painted in the most traditional of colours...he will be multi coloured... like some geese I have just finished!Cows, I feel are very well used to mud!

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate in reply to Oldfloss

Mud is the least concern to a cow, enjoy your paintings, you can paint as many from my photos as you wish.

Oldfloss profile image
OldflossAdministratorGraduate in reply to AlMorr

I have started collecting copies of them...as soon as I finish one I shall post it in a reply to you!

Rainbow geese...x

Great walk for you Al and wasn't it a beautiful day 😎🌞 glad to hear that your sciatica has passed over 👍 great that you managed to do your 50th not park run and a good time too! I love the picture of the hairy coos 😁👍

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate in reply to Littleoyellow

A nice day where I live but not as sunny as some other places in the UK, at least the rain stayed off.I think if I had ran 14K today the leg would have got sore by the end, I enjoyed my 50th virtual parkrun yesterday but I did walk a little during the first 4 K's, ran the last kilometer non stop, glad you like the photo of those "hairy Highland cooes" (cows)

Littleoyellow profile image
LittleoyellowGraduate in reply to AlMorr

I think you were wise to take it steady Al, and you still got to enjoy your walk today while taking care of the sciatica 👍

AlMorr profile image

There is a large park in Glasgow called Pollock Park where incidently the first Scottish Parkrun was held where they have had Highland Cattle for many years, glad you like the photo Tippyrunn.
