I began running aged 71 last August having never been a runner. I completed C25K by October I think. I missed the guided runs and then found the Nike running app which is great. I run for about 30 minutes 3 times a week roughly and can do 3K+
So many people write about the joy of endorphins. Not me! Well am I too old? What more could I do? I have a replacement hip so don’t go wild but keep up a steady pace. Any ideas would be mist welcome.
Thanks

Slowing down to the recommended easy conversational pace makes it more achievable and for most, more enjoyable.
Say this sentence out loud to yourself "Am I going slow enough to enable me to speak this sentence in one out breath?" If you cannot, you are going too fast.
To be honest I’m not sure what is meant by the so called ‘runners high’, probably means different things to everyone, but I do generally feel good after my runs, I have a sense of achievement that I have done something for me and it makes me feel good, healthy and happy.
I reckon it’s one of those things, if you go looking for it, you’ll never find it, but if you just relax, do your own thing, go at your own own pace you will find your ‘feel good’ , remind yourself of the reasons you wanted to be more active or fitter.
Sounds like you’re doing really well and have created a great habit, keep going 👍
I’m 73. I did a modest amount of running in my fifties. Last year I completed the Couch to 5k. I can’t say I have noticed any runner’s high beyond being satisfied that I have completed another run. Hot and sweaty, yes. High, no. 😉
The important thing is that regular running makes me feel (and be) a lot fitter!
