Just joined. I completed run 4 this morning and clocked 5k with a mix of running and fast walks. Not road run since I was 17 so it’s been great getting back into it...even if it’s slowly now I’m nearer 60 than 16.

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

Stick to the plan and it will reward you.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Well done. Just follow the plan. No need to do extras as that could be detrimental in the long term. Slow down as you progress and the intervals get longer. You need to get through each run, not race through it and not be able to finish and have to repeat. 👍🏽

I'm impressed. I popped out at about 7:30 this morning and had to concede defeat due to patchy icy. I may have better luck later if the 'Beast' doesn't sweep across the South West too early.Stay safe and keep running when you can.
