hey everyone , I’m laura - 34, two kids, on slimming world, need to lose about 4 stone, have lost one stone since November!

On my first c25k - just done week 1 run 2 :)

I am feeling great enjoying it!

I am on treadmill currently, will I struggle or have to move back a week if I go out on the roads? Always have found road running hard !!

Welcome laura. Well done on starting the programme and good luck with the fat club :) I have lost 3.5stone with SW since July last so it definitely works if you let it.

I don't think you need to start again if you hit the road outside. It's far more fun in the fresh air. You'll smash it. :)

Thanks! And wow that’s great! I think I’ll get outside in the next couple of weeks, I’m definitkey seeing how the training plan works - I was able to up my running pace today quite easily!

I just know if I go to the gym I will get it done! 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️

Some people find the adjustment running outside tough as there are other things to consider. Uphills, downhills, pacing yourself rather than the machine doing it, different terrain under your feet. Give both a try and don't sweat it if you need a couple practice sessions to get used to it. It's all good stuff.

Hello Laura,

Well done for starting running and SW all at the same time! I think you're going to do really well with both because you're obviously very determined. Good luck and keep posting.

Trying to be! It’s encouring to see all the cals burnt on the Fitbit - that is a good incentive for me! 🤗🤗 thank you 🙌🏻

Welcome and well done.

Your treadmill should be set at an incline of a minimum of one degree to simulate running outdoors.

Read this guide to the healthunlocked.com/couchto5... which will hopefully help.

Sounds like you’re on the right track to achieving your weight loss and fitness goals. You have to stick to them though. Healthy eating and exercise should be your norm for life. It will benefit your whole family if mum is healthy and happy

Once you get running, and hopefully walking more, combined with eating healthily you will see the weight shift.

Good luck 🙂👍🏃‍♀️✔️

Hope so! I’m trying not to be so hard on myself with it all as I’ve had an awful few years - one reason although not an excuse why my weight had gone up

Lost my mum suddenly aged 54, just 3 weeks before I had my son - was a terrible time

So with medication (ptsd) and general life stuff I just lost my way a bit - like you said the fitness side I really want to be in my life going forward - also gives me some me time which I struggle with!

Hi Laura. I’m at the same stage as you and I’ve done one of each. I think the treadmill is easier physically but boring. The run outside was more difficult especially on inclines but so much more enjoyable to run in the woods. I think the advice to set the treadmill up on a slight incline is a good idea. Good luck and well done.

Agreed it’s is boring! I just make sure I have my music! I have woods right behind me so as soon as it’s lighter at night I’ll be going there

I think I’ll try some road running next week , a friend is running 10k regularly and she said she will come with me and just follow my plan for the night

One thing I noticed today on run 3 I did manage to increase my pace on the runs so that was good! Pleased all in all!

Good luck with your too! :)
