So this morning I did my W5R3. Nearly didn’t go when I got outside and saw the sheet of ice at the bottom of my drive, realised I’d forgotten my new running buff (didn’t go back) and couldn’t get my inspiring toons to play (fingers too cold). But then I saw the amazing sunrise and off I went.
More than anything I can’t believe the distance I have run. Yea 20 minutes sounded nearly impossible (and it would have been 6 weeks ago!!) but I’ve run continuously for over 3/4 of my normal loop. I’m picturing the distance in my head and I can’t believe it - how did that happen!? This programme really is amazing and I’m totally up for the next 4 weeks!! 🏃♀️
Hope you are all enjoying your runs/jogs/walks today and thanks for all your inspiring posts 👍🏼

Luckily I did get my music going by the time I’d got to the end of my 5 minute walk. Where would I have been without Annie Lennox telling me that sweet dreams are made of this!!? 🤪
I just read your other posts. You mentioned that you hadn’t told anyone about doing the programme... that made me laugh! I didn’t tell my husband until about week 4! I was too embarrassed! And I used to drive to a different town so no one would see me! 🤣🤣
Oh glad I’m not the only one who is a secret C25k-er!! I did see my neighbours on Wednesday morning.
Neighbour: oh are you off out for a nice early morning walk too? Me: er...yep, that’s it, sorry can’t stop! 🤣 During my first 5 minute run I saw them crossing the field on my loop but obviously I just ran a bit faster and hoped they hadn’t seen me! (Unlikely in my hi viz 🤦♀️🤣)
I plan to unveil my success when I’ve finished the programme!
Thing is, when I see someone out running, no matter how fast, slow, nimble or clumpy they look, I always just think: wow, they’re out, they’re off the couch and they’re putting the effort in. Then I look at their trainers and clothes!!
And on that note I think I will treat myself to a new running jacket rather than my 3rd best gortex 15 years old jacket covered with a big his viz cycling belt thingy!!
Well done determined55, 20 minutes running is definitely an achievement and something to be proud of. Be careful of W6R1 as you go out still on a W5R3 high and it can catch you out, take that one nice and slowly ok, you’re doing great 👍
Thank you. I’ve had a quick peak. Would I be better having 2 days off father than 1? I also peaked at the end of the week and quite honestly can’t wait to get there!
Take as many rest days as you need, if you feel you need 2, take 2, you know your body and how it feels better than anyone and there’s no set rules, it’s all part of the learning process. It’s great to read how positive you are now 👍
