How far are you going?

I was just scrolling through my ipod and saw the progress bit by bit on my 'runs'. 30 Minutes now gets me to 4.3 km (Week 4) Not much, but I am fairly happy with it at this stage, I know speed and distance will come with time. :-)) How far do you go with every run?

Wk 4, Day 2 and I'm travelling 2.35 miles. (3.78km)

Quite happy with that as I am still way too big to be sprinting anywhere! Hopefully when get to run 35-40 mins non stop, I can get that 5k pace. That's my goal anyway.

I am not petite either, I think the running is rather hard on our old joints! But at 3.8km you sound to be right on track. I think the only reason I get a bit more is because I walk home so fast to go sprawl out on the floor! :-))

Don't worry about distance and/or pace at the moment.

Concentrate on the program and increasing your stamina.

When you can run non-stop for 30 minutes, thats the time to start measuring things.

Some people, once they've graduated, keep on increasing the number of minutes they run, without measuring distance/pace.

You're doing really well to get to week 4.

Its such a great feeling isnt it?

:)

Fabulous afterwards! Most of the time I curse myself during the run though! :-)) I think I am more bothered about it than I should be because I am doing Race for Life on the 01st of July and don't want my family to stand around waiting for ever! :-)))

you could always do a timed walk/run to ensure your pace is fairly quick. I reckon the family won't mind waiting though

I notice you are around week 7! That's fantastic, I think when I hit that I might be going into minus numbers... :-) :-)) Running 25 minutes, amazing.

On the actual 30 minute run I cover 4km plus 0.5 warm up walk then another 1.3km-ish on the cool down walk.

I am dong RFL on 8 July so really need to get up to 5km run soon

I am way too late to run the 5km all through, but you are just about there already. Good luck with RFL!
