Hi,

I’m 39 and have been dipping in and out of running for the last year. I really want to keep motivation and be consistent.

I have two teenage children that can be left alone, so no excuse really to not take the time out for myself and go run.

I really enjoy that feeling once it’s done. It helps my mental health as well as fitness , I just need to keep going 😃

Have you tried the couch to 5k plan @nic4221 ?

I have, I revert back to week 3 and then build up every time I re start. I used to also go to the local park for the park run on a Saturday.

Welcome to the forum.

Following a structured training plan such as C25k is the safest route which will also give you the satisfaction of weekly progress. If you keep posting here, we will keep you running.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.
