Sorry that I have been away and have done what I never wanted to do and that was to stop running! I was forced to stop when my back went into spasm, then I didn't want to risk injury before Christmas. Since then, I have been procrastinating about getting back out and not felt in the "mood" if I am completely honest.
I am currently debating (again) whether to get my running shoes on today- but I have lost confidence with running and don't quite know where to start...
What do you think? What would you do?

I would suggest start at week 6. You won't have lost all your fitness.. so try week 6. The first two rung prepare you for a 20 minute run. See how you get on with that.
I feel similar to you, I haven’t been running since mid December when I caught Covid. Whilst Covid came and went quickly the lingering aches and not feeling great have continued.
I miss my running so much, have never had great confidence or been the fastest but who cares!!
There is no better feeling that being out in the fresh air with your music on and just your thoughts.
I’ve just looked and going to try week 5 but if it’s too much go to week 4.
Don’t be too hard on yourself at least your wanting to try.
You inspired me to get my running gear on. The winter sun was shining so off I have been. Decided on week 5 run 1. I managed all runs . So pleased I have been now and looking forward to the next.
As stated in the guide to the plan, healthunlocked.com/couchto5... you lose no significant condition in the first two weeks of non running.
After that loss of condition is gradual.
All any of us can do after a lay off is to go out and see what we can comfortably manage, then build back up gently, using C25k or something similar as a guide to weekly increase.
Hi Jools! Thanks for the lovely message!I need to get my backside into gear and get going again... do NOT want to lose this after working so hard last year, but just feel a bit scared it's going to be horrendous!
I won't know until I try. Need to stop being so hard on myself about something that hadn't even happened yet!!! 😁🙈
It won’t be horrendous, I’m sure. Just take it steady like when we were doing C25K. It will give you a good idea about where to go from there, you might want do increase gradually without going back to the programme, or you might prefer to have that structure again for a while. Only you can decide - but yes, get out there 😂
Hey you ! Your a Red Devil ! There’s only me shuffling about out there at the moment and I’m not on full capacity. Tears is concentrating on her career and not feeling 100% so we need you back out there. Try a Nike Run Club app comeback run, just to ease you in gently 👍🏃♀️
Awww, how lovely of you to say that. My plan is to get work finished handy today and get out before dark... not too much to squeeze in.... so let's see🤔😉😊
Aww I’m missing you lovely lot too - still finding my feet with new role and being sensible as my side still feels delicate ... hopeful of being back soon ... Yes!! I know! Me.. sensible! 🙈🤣
To all you wonderful people, thanks for being the supportive angels on my shoulder. I ran today!! If I'd not posted yesterday and read your encouraging words, I definitely would have found a new excuse today. Thank you to you all 🤗🤗🤗🤗 Hopefully, this is me, back in the house!!!!
