CR3 - a failure?

Hiya,

Note to self, eat before running! I need to lose 2,5 Santa kilos and am counting calories for it (nothing bad, I plan to lose those 2,5 kilos over 7 to 8 weeks so no drastic measures). But because I like to have something sweet in the evening when watching tv, I try to avoid eating anything outside breakfast, lunch and diner. But that made that today I apparently was too weak at 4 pm to run 30 minutes straight. My body lacked energy and that meant that at 17 minutes in my run I needed a walking break of 1.44 minutes. A failure in my eyes, but I know the reason and am once again a little wiser for it. Again, note to self: eat a little something at 3 pm when running at 4 pm.

No knee pain at the moment, though there is some hurt skin on my left foot where the arch support seems to irritate the skin. Will use a bandaid on my foot on that spot next time. That is if I remember to do with my lousy excuse of a memory.

So, that was consolidation run number 3!

Cheers, Evy

Evy, fear not we have a recycling facility for those "gone wrong runs" just pop it in and it's gone 👍

The next one's always better 🙂

No such thing as a failure here Evy! Every run builds up strength and as you say, there’s always something to learn! Enjoy the next one!

Nice learning opportunity there. Did you feel different to previous runs, what was the feeling that made you stop? Curious in case it happens to me.

in reply toZip54

Well I can't really put my finger on it. It was mainly a very tired feeling, as if I couldn't get my feet to move and my body just begged to stop. It was only when I was back home that I felt it was an energy-lack and I made the connection to my lack of food.

And yeah nice learning

😜

You might have discovered "jeffing"

in reply toRennur

Thank god for Google! I have indeed been Jeffing my run yesterday and actually now I think about it, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, is there? I had promised myself to listen to my body and if my body says WALK, then walk it should be. Thanks!!

So you walked a bit and carried on running (could've added that 1'44" at the end!) Further than sitting on the couch. Just one run of 150 this year!

As above, no failure just an opportunity to learn. Every run is different, every run is an opportunity ☺️

Thanks 😊
