Week 9! 😱 I can’t believe I’m here! Did run 1 today and it went well! Much like most of my longer runs, the first 10 minutes were hard but when I hit the half way point it got easier
I find that my body just kind of goes on autopilot after a while and I don’t have to worry about not getting to the end cause I know I will, it’s more of a mental battle to endure it for the length of time. A battle I seem to keep winning though!
really excited to have made it this far, looking forward to taking on runs 2 & 3!

Well done HexGirl, you've got this!! I think you are completely right, the mental battle is as hard, if not harder than the running part, but you are winning

Well done! I'm only 1 week behind you - I did W8R1 this morning and I agree it's as much a mental battle as a physical one.

I totally agree with you about knowing your body can do it, just needing to convince your mind. I find every run I'm having a conversation in my head about whether to keep running or stop despite the fact that nothing is aching or burning and I am breathing OK. It seems that I have to repeatedly run through a body scan to actually convince myself it's OK to keep running.

I’ve only just seen this post, well done HexGirl, the autopilot thing is so cool isn’t it, that’s what I experience and it’s a great feeling as your legs just carry you along. You’ve done so well and now Graduation Day is in sight 🏅👀 keep up the good work 👍🏃♀️

Way to go HexGirl! I totally agree, it’s all about telling ourselves we can do this. When I’m finding it tough, I remind myself that my legs haven’t fallen off, even if they ache a bit, and that I can do it. 😀

x
Yay well done! I hope it went well? x
So well thank you! better than run 1 and I did bang on 5k which was super exciting cause I never thought I’d do that by the end of the program. Buzzing
thank you so much
x
Oh wow well done! I still haven't cracked 5k but taking it slow since being ill last month. Good luck with your last run x
In fairness I still think the biggest achievement is being able to run for 30 mins but it was a super pleasant surprise! I hope you’re feeling better now? Taking it steady sounds very sensible to me
thank you so much :3 x
Oh definitely, it's such a huge achievement! I had Covid over Christmas which wasn't great but I feel basically back to normal now which is good. & getting the vaccine today x
