Recommendations for shoes

Hi there I would need some recommendations for running shoes for my son (17) who is a regular 10k runner. Lately he has been hurting in his legs and I suspect his trainers are no longer supporting him. Problem is we can't visit sports shops obviously and try new shoes or do gait analysis . Yet he needs to run for his mental health. Can anyone suggest good shoes I could order on line , Much appreciated.

Hi GreenNewYork Were the worn out trainers your son has any good before they wore out? I'm only new to running and was lucky enough to manage to have gait analysis done recently, but a good friend of mine is a seasoned runner and she just orders the same pair of trainers again once hers wear out as she knows they are the ones she likes. Sorry I can't be of much more help than that. Good luck 🍀🤞

Thank you for that !

There are a few sports shops offering gait analysis on line, you could see if that's perhaps an option

Thank you for that. I had not realised that you could do it on line.

If he runs off road then just about all trail shoes are neutral, so it will not matter as long as they are comfortable. Trail shoes are not recommended for running on hard surfaces.

This post about running shoes and the included link to a post about gait analysis may give you pointers to alternatives, such as wet foot test and virtual gait analysis healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

If his current shoes are causing an issue then make sure you don't buy shoes that have the same level of support as his current ones, as it is obviously not correct for him.

HiI would definitely recommend sportsshoes.com you can do online gait analysis (I haven’t done it myself )

But they are the cheapest and best for shoes also they will price match ( I have done that myself )

I do what someone else said just buy updated version of previous shoes I have done that for years.

Hope this is helpful to you.

Good luck
